FAQ Diffuser

Q. What is the average cubic footage of coverage that can be expected or square footage of room/space, given average ceiling height?

A. The coverage depends on the type of essential oils and the airflow in the room(s). Both will affect the coverage.

Normally speaking it covers 180 sq.ft-700 sq.ft or 5.09 m2-19.82 m2

Q. Why does the bottom lid not want to close?

A. Make sure the washer is all round, flat and deeply set in position and not folded. The bottle will not screw into place and prevents the lid to close.

Q. I cannot get the lid open.

A. Use a warm cloth or thin flexible rubber/plastic mat made for opening bottles to open it with.

Q. I have arthritis in my fingers and cannot screw the bottle out.

A. With the lid open, use a warm cloth to unscrew the bottle or place the bottle in a little hot water till its hot and try screwing the bottle out with a cloth as protection against the heat.

Q. I cannot smell the fragrance of the oil.

A. Firstly, you can try running the diffuser at the highest intensity.

Secondly, a shorter tube is useful for (stronger) output. So if you can't smell the fragrance that well, then you can cut the tube by 4mm.

Thirdly, the strength of scent will be affected by three points:

a) The type of oil you use. Different type oils as well as the same oil with different purities, come with different strengths of scent. Please try different oils and you’ll notice a big difference in the strength of scent.

b) The strength of aroma nebulizer and usage. This Aennon diffuser is designed for normal home and bedroom use, suitable for around 1076 square foot.

The scent needs several minutes before the smell will be detected by a person who is at a distance from the diffuser, so you almost won't smell it at the beginning after diffusion has just started.

There are three levels for diffusion intensity that can be controlled at the top panel. If you'd like stronger scent, you’ll have to choose the maximum level and let it diffuse for the longest time possible. A good idea for instance is starting the diffuser 10 minutes before you are going to spend time in a room.

c) The another point is by the direction in which the scent flows. Drafts will always affect this direction. If the windows are open, or if the Aennon diffuser is working under an air conditioning outlet, you will be unable to detect the scent.

Fourthly:

1) Make sure the round white washer is inside the nozzle (there is a spare washer in case the original gets lost).

The biggest issue is the washer. If you do not ensure that the washer is FLAT ALL ROUND AND DEEPLY SEATED INSIDE before you screw the bottle in it will leak.

The washer sometimes “fall” down during handling so be very sure. Push it lightly in with the back of a teaspoon or something small but not sharp.

2) Make sure the washer is FLAT ALL ROUND, inside the nozzle.

3) Then check if the oil bottle is properly screwed in. Screw the bottle in until it's fixed enough and can't move forward any more.

4) Did you use the original oil bottle coming with the package? If not, which bottle are you using? Please try the Aennon empty bottle that came with the package, if you haven't already.

5) In some cases when the smell is clearly to weak, the oil might be too thick, which makes the nozzle blocked and the issue is actually that the oil might be too thick or that the oil is mixed with vegetable oils, coconut, jojoba, or others. Please try different oils to see whether this makes a difference.

6) The nozzle also might be blocked when changing different oils without running it with alcohol first (see Manual “6. Care”). Make sure to first run the unit with ethanol (rubbing alcohol) in the bottle for at least 10 minutes then, replace it with a new scent.

Q. Why is this diffuser more expensive than the others?

A. The Aennon Diffuser is actually a nebulizing aroma diffuser (not anything like an ultrasonic aroma diffuser) and nebulizers typically fall in the range of $80-$200. So we're at the low end of the spectrum to make superior aromatherapy experience accessible for all people.

Here is the difference between the Aennon nebulizing diffuser and a normal ultrasonic diffuser.

1. Health

Both diffuser can offer a good scent. But the Aennon nebulizing diffuser can help release the PURE essential oil better. The very tiny mist even can’t be seen; it is tiny enough for the human body to gain health benefits from the essential oil, especially from high end oils.

Nebulization ionizes and suspends fine oil molecules into the air, making the essential oil more bioavailable. At this point, the essential oil is highly penetrating to the lungs, throat, and sinuses; it literally cleanses the air without leaving oil deposits in the room.

This excellent atomizing performance requires very little essential oil to quickly saturate the air. Added advantage of no heat involved, therefore no residue or oxidation.

Essential oils are by their very nature therapeutic, but their effectiveness can either be enhanced or destroyed depending on the type of diffuser used. The Aennon diffuser ensures that you’re getting the most benefits from your oils and improving the air you breathe without any residu in your room.

2) Battery

The built in battery has a 500 -700 times full charge and discharge life-time. It has a 20-50 hours running-time per full charge. This means if the Aennon Aroma Diffuser runs 8 hours per day, the battery has a 8 years life-time with low out put, and 3.5 year with high output mist at least.

Q. I have other oil bottles but they have inner caps in. Can I use them?

A. You will have to take the inner caps out. Also, not all 5ml or 10ml bottles will fit the thread. Make sure it is the same thread size and “fatness” as the bottle the diffuser came with.

The length can also not be longer because the bottom lid will not close. You will also need the tube to fit the bottle you use. For short bottles you will have to have a second shorter tube, which you can cut to size and exchange with the longer one.

Q. What is the life expectancy of the battery?

A. The built in battery has a 500-700 times full charge and discharge life-time.
It has a 20-50 hours running-time per full charge.

This means if the Aennon Aroma Diffuser runs 8 hours per day, the battery has a 8 years life-time with low out put, and 3.5 year with high output mist at least.

Q. Can I leave the cable on charge during the time of use of the diffuser?

A. Yes, it will run while it is charging. As long as the batteries are charged to some level it will work.

And yes, you can leave it plugged in all the time. The battery stops charging when full, so it will not shorten its life span.

The red light should go off after it's fully charged. Just like your mobile phone or computer, there's no safety problem to plug the adaptor in.

The Aennon diffuser adaptor has UL and FCC certification, which means that it's safe to use with certainty.

Q. If I use the USB connection to run the machine, will the battery still be in use or might this be a way to save on the life of the battery, saving the cordless function for when needed?

A. Yes, the battery will still be in use. This battery is similar with a mobile phone's built-in battery.

There is no reason to be concerned, however, since the lifetime will be at least 3.5-8 years if you run it 8 hours per day.

Q. Do I have to buy a whole new unit when the battery no longer holds a good charge?

A. If the battery doesn't hold good charge any longer or runs dead without any storage function, the Aennon diffuser can still work as a normal diffuser powered by USB cable and adaptor.

Just connect USB cable & adaptor with Aennon aroma diffuser to supply power to run the unit.

Q. What are the qualities of 100% pure oil?

A. One issue to watch out for when you start using essential oils for aromatherapy is to buy the right kind of essential oils.

You have to be very careful because some of what you buy at flea markets and other places isn’t essential oils at all, they’re really perfume.

Local & Sustainable

Your best bet is to find a local source for your essential oils. If they’re grown locally and made locally you’ll get a far better quality of essential oil than if you source them elsewhere.

If you can’t do that, the next best thing is to order them over the net from a reputable business.

Pure High Quality

Buy unadulterated pure oils to ensure that the quality is high. If you can get organic, all the better.

You will need to balance your need for purity with your budget, but a little goes a long way especially when you buy the most pure forms of essential oils that you can afford.

Good Reputation

Only buy from companies with a good reputation. Today, it’s easy to find out what customers think of a particular company with a simple Google Search.

Check them out, find out what professionals are using, and use those essential oils.
When you balance this with your ability to pay, and with how you plan to use them, because it does matter – you can find the best oils that will work for you.

Just understand that sometimes what people call “essential oil” is perfume, if there is any alcohol in the oil it’s a perfume.

To be a real essential oil it’s ONLY oil and only oil of the plant or material named.

Q. Why does the diffusing stop so often with a light blinking?

A. Depending on which aroma intensity setting you put your diffuser - the diffuser will then automatically either have time intervals of 30 sec. 60 sec and 90 seconds on and then it's 120 seconds off otherwise the aroma get's to potent + this way you save much of your precious oil.

Our advanced diffuser is known to use much less oil than any other diffuser on the market because of this advanced technique.

And the light blinks while it's pausing for 120 seconds.

Q. Can the light be switched off?

A. You can try to hide it under a piece of cardboard but it cannot be switched off.

Q. Does the oil come into contact with plastic?

A. The oil does come in contact with plastic, primarily when it goes through the tube.
The plastic is made of ABS (BPA-free) so it's safe for you and your family.

Q. What do you clean the diffuser with?

A. Surgical spirit or rubbing alcohol. Cleaning the diffuser allows you to change oils, store it for a few days or unblocks the inner and outer nozzles if blocked.

Q. How can you tell when oil needs replacing in the device is there an empty out light?

A. The answer is that our nose help us do that :)

If you find there's no scent coming from the unit then you simply turn it off to check if there's essential oil left inside the bottle.

Note: it's safe for this machine to run without essential oil. So there's not any harm for the aroma diffuser machine to run a while without oil; you just fill the bottle again with one of your favourite essential oils and continue to enjoy your 100% pure, oil-only diffusion aromatherapy.

Q. Does the diffuser bottle need to be full?

A. No, there can be only a few drops of oil in the bottle; as long as the end of the tube is dipped into oil, it will work and spread the aroma fragrance.

Q. Do I physically have to turn the unit off when it's through running the timed one hour, two hour, etc.?

A. No, you don't have to physically turn the unit off when it's finished it pre-determined time schedule of 1, 2, 4, hrs.

It automatically will shut off after the pre-set time frame, unless you have put it on "continuous" which is also an option.

Q. How long does the oil of a 10ml bottle diffuse before it is empty?

A. How long the oil lasts really depends on which setting you put your Aennon Aroma Diffuser.

There are 3 aroma intensity settings - low, medium, high.

The reality is that the Aennon nebulizing diffuser turns the oil into a fine mist with a burst of air. This helps to conserve the oil and provide increased enjoyment while using less oil than any other diffuser on the market.

That means that you are guaranteed to use less oil then any other traditional aroma diffuser!

The diffuser has been used at least 2-4 hours a day for 5 days/week and after a few weeks you could still be using the same bottle.

So on medium, used during a full time period, the bottle should last more or less a week.

Q. Why do I hear a rattling sound when shaking the diffuser?

The rattling sound is fine: The Aennon Essential Oil Diffuser has a built-in spill-safe and auto shut-off systems. The rattling sound is from the setting of this special system that used for tilt sensitivity.

If the Aennon Essential Oil Diffuser tilted or knock it over accidentally while it's working, it will shut off automatically to help prevent leaking your precious essential oils. If this occurs, either wait about two minutes for it to normalize, or restart the unit by turning it off and then on again.

Q. What is the NOISE level of the diffuser?

A. The db level, it's below 50 db from 1 meter.

Nebulizing aroma diffusers will always have some noise. The Aennon nebulizing diffuser, however, has one of the lowest noise levels in the world compared to other nebulizers!

Plus, when you are someone who can't hear, i.e. the TV or can’t sleep, due to the noise of the diffuser, try not sitting too close to the diffuser; keep the diffuser more than 2 meters from you. The scent will still reach you and the noise will probably be less disturbing.

Also,

1) Please check if the bottom cover is closed. And if the aroma diffuser is placed flat on the desk/table.

2) The aroma diffuser may be a little blocked. Please run the Aennon aroma diffuser with ethanol (rubbing alcohol) and select mode "L=Low"  for 10 minutes or more time before using essential oil.

3) If you changed the essential oil, the oil may a little thick. Please change to another kind (thin) oil and see if that helps. In our experience changing to a different oil can be the solution for the noise level to back to normal.

Q. The tube inside the bottle is bend?

A. You can straighten it by hand, even by taking the tube off and putting it back on. Actually, a bit of a bend in the tube doesn't lessen the functioning of the diffuser.

Q. The Diffuser leaks, what can I do?

1) Make sure the round white washer is inside the nozzle (there is a spare washer in case the original gets lost). The biggest issue is the washer. If you do not ensure that the washer is FLAT ALL ROUND AND DEEPLY SEATED INSIDE before you screw the bottle in it will leak. The washer sometimes “ fall” down during handling so be very sure. Push it lightly in with the back of a teaspoon or something small but not sharp.

2) Make sure the washer is FLAT ALL ROUND inside the nozzle. There is an extra one in the package but when you need more you can take yours to the nearest hardware shop and buy some more. Rubber or plastic will do.

5) The bottle might be defective: If it is a low quality bottle, it has thick line that can't be screwed well into the Aennon Diffuser. Not all 5ml &10 ml. bottles fit in the Aennon Aroma Diffuser. So we often get the question which 10 ml. bottles are the perfect fit with our Diffuser. You will find the different oil bottle suppliers in the website or by contacting support@aennon.com.

6) In some cases, the oil might be too thick, which makes the nozzle blocked. Please try different oils to see whether this makes a difference. This also prevents from the smell potentially getting weak.

7) The nozzle also might be blocked when changing different oils without running it with alcohol first (see Manual “6. Care”). Make sure to first run the unit with ethanol (rubbing alcohol) in the bottle for about three minutes, then replace it with a new scent.

If the nozzle of the aroma diffuser has a blockage problem if it sometimes sounds as if ‘air is pumping into the oil’ and as if the nebulizing sound changes to another ‘gurgling sound’.

8) Should you open the bottom lid you could see a small bubble in the oil, the diffusing is going well and there is no problem.

If there is a big bubble in the oil the nozzle might be blocked and no smell will come out so follow the steps below with the needle, then run Aennon Diffuser with ethanol for an hour - at least.

If no bubble is seen in the oil, the INSIDE nozzle hole is blocked, and no smell will come out. The INSIDE nozzle hole is 2mm DEEPER than the OUTSIDE hole YOU CAN SEE, it’s not easily detected. Insert the finest needle you have for around 2mm DEEP, rotate the needle. And then run Aennon Diffuser with ethanol for an hour. If the nozzle is blocked extensively, diffuse it with alcohol for a few more times; even days might be needed.

Here is some additional info:

The below three reasons may cause the blocking problem:

1). The use of too thick oil.
2). When changing oils, the unit was not run with alcohol.
3). If there is a time delay between using the diffuser, it needs to be run/cleaned with alcohol after the last time of use, (it should not be stored with oil in the system).
